Having an opportunity to intern with HRBC was a very valuable chance to further develop my professional skills, and learn additional skills and abilities from staff and agents who sought to make this experience the most enjoyable and beneficial for us interns. I learned many aspects of Medicare and how the availability of Medicare advantage plans allows agents to anxiously intend to help seniors as they choose what is best for them, in terms of health insurance. It is impacting how agents continue to show their interest in helping the seniors in choosing what is best for them, and not just choose something that will grant the agent a financial benefit. I learned about customer service and approachability when it comes to talking to seniors and other agents. I developed my business, professional skills even further. Additionally, I learned how to put my own skills of time management and team cooperation into practice to create potential advancement with the HRBC team.
I understood the passion agents have when helping the seniors and I learned how to share that same passion, as I have always been passionate about giving back to my community. The information learned about Medicare was crucial for my understanding and acceptance that in reality seniors do need these types of services to live a healthful, joyful and less stressful life. It was fun to get to know the agents and the reasons why each individual is working in the insurance industry. I learned about the services HRBC offers and how a strong team can come out with outstanding business development strategies and engagement. Having the opportunity to intern by the guidance of Medicare agents was my pleasure and I would highly encourage anyone doubtful about this internship opportunity to give it a try. This internship offered me many skills and knowledge that will help me as I continue my professional journey, and I will definitely make effective use of everything learned.

During my internship with HRBC insurance, I acquired numerous qualities that I hope will benefit my future professional career. Because I have yet to attain a job with a career path, interning with HRBC helped me get an idea of what entering the workforce will be like. It helped me develop professional skills such as learning how to talk to supervisors and clients. Before interning with HRBC, I found it very difficult to talk to people that I did not know. Activities such as the “community team” and providing customer service benefited me greatly by encouraging me to get out of my comfort zone. Having to manage my schoolwork and internship responsibilities helped me develop new techniques such as prioritization of certain extracurricular activities in my life to maintain academic success. Overall, interning with HRBC was a wonderful experience for my personal and professional growth. It opened my eyes and understanding to a field that I had never given much thought to, and I developed friendships and professional relationships with people that I would have never met otherwise.
